Self-directed Party
Prefer a more hands-on, DIY experience? Our Self-Directed Mining Party lets kids enjoy the fun of gem mining at their own pace and without the expense of the sluice and gem mine host. We sell you the bags of booty and sifting pans and the kids can “dry sift” for gems. Each child receives a bag of “booty” filled with treasures along with a sifting pan. Simply pour the contents into the pan, shake away the sand, and uncover gemstones, fossils, and other surprises hidden inside.

Travel Information
Travel is included within 20 miles of Carolina Forest.
Locations beyond 20 miles are subject to a $1 per mile travel fee.

To reserve your party, we require a $100 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due 5 days before the party date.
In the event of bad weather, we can often set up in a garage or under tents that we provide. However, for safety reasons, we cannot operate the sluice outdoors during lightning or strong winds. In those situations, the setup would need to be moved indoors to a garage or the sluice portion of the party would need to be canceled.
- If the sluice cannot be used, we will still provide the bags of booty for the 10 children and refund any amount paid over $120, which is the cost of the 10 bags. Your refund would be adjusted to cover the cost of additional children if you paid extra for them.
